RIVA Upgraded Arena Wi-Fi Bluetooth Hi-Fi Speaker, 6 Drivers, 50W, Multiroom Music System, Supports Airplay 2, Chromecast, Spotify, Tidal and More Streaming (Black)
In-Depth Review
I recently decided to invest in the RIVA Arena speaker after hearing a lot of good things from friends and family. As someone who spends a good amount of time listening to music—whether I’m cooking, entertaining guests, or just relaxing—I wanted a speaker that could give me rich sound, versatility, and a bit of style. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I’m excited to share my experience.
Right out of the box, the first thing that struck me was its sleek design. The RIVA Arena has this modern, minimalist vibe that looks great on my living room shelf. It’s compact but feels solid, and the black finish adds a touch of elegance. At about 3 pounds, it’s portable enough for me to move it around the house without fussing over it too much.
Build quality is impressive. It feels well-crafted with a sturdy material that suggests durability. The controls are intuitive—there’s a volume knob, a power button, and a dedicated button for Bluetooth pairing. Setting it up was a breeze; I just followed a few prompts on my phone, and I was connected to my Wi-Fi in no time.
Now, let’s talk about performance. The sound quality is nothing short of fantastic, particularly for a speaker in this price range. It features multiple drivers that deliver crisp highs and deep bass without distorting at higher volumes. I’ve played various genres—from rock to classical—and it handles them all beautifully. The bass boost feature is especially nice for those times when I want deeper sound, like during dance party nights with friends.
I’ve also enjoyed using it for multi-room audio. Using the app to connect it with other speakers throughout my home was seamless. Streaming from platforms like Spotify or Tidal worked flawlessly as well, and the ability to utilize Airplay and Chromecast is a huge plus. It saved me from dealing with unnecessary wires and has given me the freedom to play music wherever I go.
In my honest opinion, the RIVA Arena is best suited for anyone who loves music as much as I do. If you’re someone who spends time in a home office, enjoys entertaining guests, or simply wants to upgrade your listening experience, this speaker could be a great choice.
On the flip side, I should mention a couple of drawbacks. The wireless range is decent but not stellar. Sometimes I had trouble connecting when I moved too far away, which could be a hassle if I’m outside or in another room. Additionally, while the app is mostly user-friendly, I found a few quirks here and there, such as occasional lag when switching songs.
All in all, the RIVA Arena boasts some serious advantages such as impressive sound quality, sleek design, and smart features, while its minor limitations can be overlooked in most regular use cases. It’s refreshing to find a product that matches all the hype surrounding it.
If you’re seeking a high-quality multi-room speaker that combines functionality with style, I can recommend the RIVA Arena without hesitation. This speaker has become my go-to for daily enjoyment, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon!

Easy to use, great quality
I bought this speaker for my living room setup, and I couldn’t be happier with the sound quality and easy set up.The bass is punchy without being muddy, vocals come through clearly, and the overall balance is just right whether I’m watching movies, playing music, or gaming. It gets loud enough to fill the entire room without any distortion.Build quality feels solid and high-end. Setup was straightforward, and the connection is reliable. It also looks sleek and modern—definitely not something I feel like I need to hide.If you’re looking for a speaker that sounds incredible and looks good doing it, this is a great buy. Highly recommend.

Big, quality sound with a small footprint!
This RIVA Arena is my third from this brand and like the other two, it doesn’t disappoint!I had a RIVA Turbo X about 10 years ago after returning a similar Bluetooth model from another audio manufacturer. The sound was muffled and “muddy” and the output was weak. After a decade of wear and tear (and being knocked over a few times), my Turbo stopped working.Eventually I purchased a Festival to complement my Bluetooth turntable, and once again was blown away by the sound quality. So after looking for a smallish but powerful speaker for my bedroom, and checking more than a few competitors, I decided to try the RIVA Arena, and I’m so glad I did! It’s both stylish and compact with a small footprint (mine is on my nightstand), and it sounds amazing. Rich bass is complemented by bright treble, and both are adjustable in the app. The Trillium technology pioneered by RIVA is truly amazing, making a single speaker sound multi-dimensional.Set up with my iOS devices with Apple AirPlay 2 was easy with the enclosed visual guide, and it can connect via Bluetooth or over WiFi. And in addition to streaming from a phone, tablet or laptop, you can stream from other music servicesNote: this is a powered speaker with a plug in cord (included).Highly recommended!

Great sound and great value
It has a well-constructed look and feel, heavy for it’s size, with a nice wrap-around grill, and has a solid feel to it. Top panel has the basics for buttons, and though it doesn’t have a true power switch, which I though was an issue at first, but it goes into standby and turns on quickly.A fair number of bluetooth speakers are either huge for an outdoor party, or small enough for your backpack, where this one fits that sweet spot of being the right size and looking nice in the house.Pros: Good sound and it has some serious volume for something that’s not actually that big.It has speakers on 3 sides, so it’s a good clear room-filling soundEasy setup (if you note the issue below) with AirPlay, regular Bluetooth, and a standard AUX-in, which is nice if you have anything older or just prefer a trusty hard-wired connection.Cons:The app (like other have noticed also) doesn’t do very much, with only a few choices for sound quality- none of which make a very noticeable difference, so I left it at the default settings and uninstalled it shortly afterwards.A note for the setup of the Airplay- the setup guide is confusing and will prevent you from connecting if you follow it literally:Just do the pairing setup like the directions and on your phone make sure you are connected to your regular WiFi network, and do NOT connect to that RIVA* network that shows up, and you will find the ‘Finish setting up your Airplay Device’ prompt at the bottom of the screen.

Could have better audio clarity
Easy to set-up and get connected to Spotify, which is exactly what I was looking for. Given the size of the speaker, I was expecting decent sound quality, however when comparing it to my Amazon Echo 8 in terms of music quality, it’s definitely lacking in the high treble and low bass. Not horrible, and acceptable for my use in our outdoor covered patio area, was just hoping for a bit better quality sound.

An impressive compact speaker
TLDR;Riva Arena is an impressive compact speaker that punches well above its weight in terms of sound fidelity and usability. For its size, Arena delivers quite detailed sound. The highs are crisp, the mids are smooth, and while the bass isn’t overwhelming, it is sufficient for most easy listening scenarios. When paired in a stereo setup, as I’ve done in my home office, the soundstage becomes well expansive for such small speakers, and creates a more immersive listening experience. I have paired it as group in Google Home, and I stream audio from YouTube Music and Spotify. However, Airplay on my mac does not recognize them as a pair, rather as L and R (the names I have configured). It also looks good and modern with its minimalistic design. Friends often underestimate how much sound and fidelity these 2 tiny units output.Since last 6 years, I have a Riva Festival as well. Everyone has just loved its sound. It is just amazing for small games, drinks, dinner parties. While the Arena excels for its size (study, bedside speakers), the Festival provides a more complete audio experience with deeper bass and greater room-filling capability. If budget and space allow, I would recommend buying a single Festival might be preferable for those seeking fuller sound without needing multiple units. If the need is just something smart looking, convenient for easy listening which you can stream out of phone you cannot go wrong with Arena.I started with a 4 star, up-ing it to 5 given its price-performance value.
