Nativa SPA by O Boticário, Madagascar Vanilla Body Oil, Soothing & Moisturizing, 6.8 Ounce
In-Depth Review
I’ve always been a bit skeptical about body oils. Growing up, I remember my mom using them, but it wasn’t something that ever caught my attention—until recently. Enter the Nativa SPA Madagascar Vanilla Body Oil. I decided to give it a shot after hearing good things from friends and seeing it featured online. Here’s how it all went down.
Right from the start, the package was aesthetically pleasing. The bottle is sleek, and the color of the oil has a soft amber tone that just looks inviting. It’s definitely something you’d find on display in a bathroom or a vanity without feeling out of place. The scent, oh man, that Madagascar vanilla! It’s warm and soothing without being overpowering. A little goes a long way, which I appreciated.
When I first applied it, I took a cautious approach. I was worried it would leave me feeling greasy or wet. But I was pleasantly surprised. It absorbed quickly into the skin and left behind a subtle sheen instead of a slick finish. The best part? My skin felt soft and well-moisturized after just the first use. No dryness for this guy!
As I continued to use the oil, I noticed how my skin felt more hydrated throughout the day. After my showers, I would apply some and, frankly, it became a bit of a ritual for me. The aroma was calming, and I found it to be more relaxing than I expected.
I also tried using it on my hair – just a small amount on the ends to tame those flyaways. It worked wonders! It didn’t leave my hair feeling oily; instead, it provided just the right amount of shine.
Now, who is this product best for? Honestly, I think anyone looking for a quality body oil can benefit, but especially those with dry skin. If you’re like me and sometimes struggle with flaky skin or simply want a luxurious feel post-shower, this is perfect. Also, if you enjoy scents that are soothing and comforting, you’ll love representing the Madagascar vanilla.
On the flip side, there are a few drawbacks I’d mention. If you’re someone who prefers a lighter moisturizer or a gel-based product, this might feel a bit heavy for you. Also, while I love the scent, it might not be for everyone. If you’re not big on vanilla, it might not be your cup of tea.
Overall, I have to say that this body oil has charmed its way into my skincare routine. It’s not just a simple moisturizer; it feels like a treat every time I use it. The combination of smell, texture, and effectiveness has made me a fan. If you’re on the fence about trying it, I’d say go for it. You might find that it becomes your new go-to.

Best Body Oil
This body oil smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. Absorbs well without feeling sticky or greasy.

Sexy fruity floral lady despite the cold
Firstly, I am BLOWN away by the scent. It’s incredibly decadent and luxurious when first applied, and my skin soaked it right up. It’s -10 in the windchill, I need moisture products that sink in. This bad boy does that and make me feel like a rich expensive lady rather than a post grad 20 something. The price per ounce stings, but for the quality and long lasting moisture, I’ll buy it again!!

Delectable skin!
I found this brand a few years ago when I was searching for sensitive skin body oil. I originally bought the Black Plum & since then I’ve repurchased it 3x. This bottle is smaller in size, but you don’t need much. After I shower, I put lotion on & then seal it with body oil. I also have psoriasis & this oil is amazing at keeping my skin hydrated. I decided to branch out & try their other scents. The Madagascar Vanilla smells delicious! I layer it with vanilla body butter, smells divine! My skin has an amazing glow! I’m definitely keeping nativaSpa top of my list! I ordered the quinoa oil too, excited to try that one too!

You will fall in love
I got the plum smell. It smells so good!! It even lingers the smell. I can’t wait to try them all. I heard from a Brazilian that it was what they used and thought i would try. Def 10000/10. It made my skin very soft especially living in -0 below weather. Worth the money for sure. It absorbed into my skin very well. Over all quality impressed!

Great smell, little goes a long way.
I will say, the bottle is slightly smaller than expected but I’m all fairness- I should have read the description to get an accurate size. The smell is a good mis between musky, sweet, and earthy. Almost evoking an oud smell but definitely Vanilla dominant. The tip of the bottle where the product comes out is absolutely perfect for rolling over your skin as it has a slightly curved top that then goes downward towards the spout, the oul is smooth, refreshing, and hydrating- a little goes a long way. This oil is also perfect for layering scents if you have a musky or even a sweet perfume to apply on top and I find that the transfer it has from my skin to my clothes is a welcome problem to have due to the intoxicating smell.

Magic
Magical. The quinoa scent… I can’t even describe. Its slightly unisex, ultra sexy, and ultra classy. Its very sweet, slighty spicy, and something a little astringent/aldehyde (but don’t let that scare you!) Like, it just smells expensive. This is absolutely nothing like you will find at BBW, Ulta, or even Sephora. For a body moisturizer, the scent lasts all day long and is fairly powerful. Like, people will pass you and think “woah she smells classy.” But without being super strong or headache inducing like perfume. It absorbs very well. Im a sweaty girl and don’t always love body lotion. I like to apply it to my whole body before I get out of the shower and then lightly pat dry… then when I hang up my towel my bathroom smells amazing. Like, normally I wont use a towel twice. This makes me want to use my towel for a week because the scent is too good to waste!I did a deep dive into Brazilian products. This is the real deal, not like the yellow jar brand. Apparently, Brazilians are the best smelling people in the world. They make the best soaps, shower 3 times a day +, and apply layers of scented oil and lotion. From the few other products I’ve ordered from Brazil… the scent profiles are VERY different than what you find in the US. I haven’t tried the vanilla but I highly doubt it will smell like Eos cashmere. That’s my one caution to others… if you want something that will match your expectation of what “plum” or “vanilla” should smell like, go to VS or BBW. If you’re willing to go out on a limb for something that smells insane good, this is it.

BEST body oil EVER
I hardly write reviews but for this one, I had to! I am in love! Happy feelings when I use this bath oil! It has the most luxurious scent and feel. I read all the reviews first when on the hunt for a bath oil that would top them all…I was afraid to spend the money and hoping I chose the right one…I received and I knew I had found the only oil I will ever want or need. If you are on the fence trust me you need to try it!

Nourishing, airy, and plump- However, there is one catch
Right off the bat, I want to admit that I totally bought into the hype around this body oil. The reviews talked about that vanilla fragrance, how quick it was to absorb, and how it moisturized your skin.I’m here to be as objective as possible.Let’s start with the absorbency. It is so lovely. The oil absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving it nice and soft. It’s lightweight, meaning it does not feel noticeable on the skin. When I put on this oil, I know that I will be moisturized all day.Now onto where the oil fell flat. The scent is, to me, the biggest let down from this oil. It has some fragrance, but it’s not something that anyone will smell unless they literally sniff your skin. The reviews had me expecting a fragrant experience, and this just didn’t provide that.I also think that the light scent leans more fresh floral rather than vanilla. The consistency of the oil very thin. I wouldn’t mark this as a true negative, because I think it’s all up to preference, but I still think it’s something that you should know. All in all, this is a competent body oil. I think that if you purchase it, you should do so expecting a moisturizing experience, but not a fragrant one. I will definitely repurchase when I run out.
