In-Depth Review

I’ve always been a bit skeptical when it comes to high-end skincare products, but I decided to give the Augustinus Bader The Serum a shot. At 35, I’ve started noticing fine lines creeping in and my skin doesn’t feel as plump as it used to. So, when I stumbled upon this serum, I was intrigued yet cautious. After using it consistently for about a month, I feel ready to share my thoughts.

The first time I unboxed the serum, I noticed the packaging immediately. The refillable ceramic base not only looked chic but also felt solid. There’s something about a good-looking product that makes you feel like you’re investing in something special. The pump dispenser is practical too; it delivers just the right amount of product without any mess.

The design is sleek and modern, but it doesn’t feel fragile. I have kids running around, and I appreciate that it feels durable enough to handle a little roughness. When it comes to build quality, it genuinely comes off as luxury without being overly ostentatious.

Now onto performance. When I first applied the serum, I noticed that its consistency was slightly thicker than other serums I’ve used. It spread nicely over my face and absorbed fairly quickly without leaving an oily residue, which I hate. After just a few days, I could see a pretty decent improvement in the texture of my skin. My complexion looked brighter, and I felt like my skin was more hydrated overall.

After about four weeks, I noticed the fine lines on my forehead were less prominent, and my cheeks looked a bit more lifted. I wouldn’t say it’s a miracle cream, but the results were certainly encouraging. Plus, it made my skin feel so soft that I found myself touching my face more often than usual—as embarrassing as that may sound!

This product seems best suited for anyone in their late 20s to mid-40s, particularly those starting to see the first signs of aging. If you’re someone who values luxury skincare and doesn’t mind spending a little more for quality, this may just be your jam. It would also appeal to anyone who appreciates a good-looking product that adds to your vanity.

Pros? It’s got a luxurious feel and a nice scent—a subtle hint that doesn’t overwhelm the senses. The pump design is user-friendly and keeps the product hygienic. On the downside, the price tag is certainly steep, which could be off-putting for budget-conscious folks. It may not suit everyone’s budget, especially for a serum.

Final thoughts? The Augustinus Bader Serum offers a solid experience. You might want to think of it as a treat for yourself rather than a necessity. If you can afford it and are keen on investing in your skin, this serum is worth considering. Just remember that while it delivers noticeable results, results will vary based on your skin type. I’m happy with my purchase, and I think it earned a respectable spot in my daily routine.

    Beautiful set, skin feels great
Augustinus Bader The Serum – Luxury Hydrating Anti-Aging Face Serum – Boosts Firmness, Smooths Fine Lines & Evens Skin Tone – Complete Set (Refillable Ceramic Base) – 30 ml / 1 fl oz – Beautiful set. Face feels super soft and moisturized after applying. No harsh smell. Unfortunately, I did not notice a big change in wrinkles or fine lines, but my skin may be beyond help. At this price point, I won’t be able to continue use once product is depleted.

Quality Serum Product, Skin Feels Plumped After.
First of all, have to say, the packaging of this serum is very nice. It comes in a well made box. Inside the box, you will find the serum and the base. The base is the blue colored glass container, it serves the purpose for the serum bottle to sit inside. It is a well made glass container, heavy and looks beautiful. The instruction in the box says you can also use the base as a flower vase, lol. I say the presentation of the serum is definitely very good and makes this serum product also very giftable.I have tried the serum for a couple of nights now, I like it a lot! For the reference, I am at my early 40s and I have thin and sensitive skin. The serum is scent free, which is a plus to me. I use it every night before bedtime, I apply after my regular skin care product, this serum serves as a finishing item in my skin care routine. The serum is very easy to spread around and absorption is pretty quick. After application, my skin feels very well hydrated and there is no greasy/oily feeling after. Even I just used a couple of nights, I can already tell a little difference, in general, I feel my skin looks a little more plumped after using this serum. I am pretty amazed by the result. To me, this serum feels good quality and seems work for me.I noticed if you want, under the same listing, you can just purchase the serum without the glass base for a little less money. I say if you are just planning to use the serum for yourself, the glass base is not a must to have. My vanity area is already crowded, so I am just gonna keep the serum bottle directly on the vanity. The glass base, I will put into storage.Overall, I think this serum is pretty good, and I am happy to continue using it everyday.

Luxurious, moisturizing serum with beautiful packaging
The packaging for this serum is luxurious, the box is very sturdy and the holder and tube of serum fit perfectly inside. This is my first time using a protect by Augustinus Bader and I did not realize that the blue base is only a holder and holds the golden tube of serum. I do like that the tube of serum itself is compact, easy to carry for travel. Personally, the holder for me is a little much, I would much rather have just the tube of serum itself, but it is definitely an experience.I have sensitive skin, leaning toward the dry side and this serum was gentle, unscented, and absorbed fairly well. I use the serum in the evening and layer it underneath moisturizer and so far there have not been any negative side effects. I have not had any breakouts and overall I think it is pretty moisturizing. I have not noticed significant changes to any fine lines or skin tightening effects, but that may be more long term effects.Given the price point of this serum, I will not be purchasing since I cannot justify spending this much on a product I use daily on my budget. However, this is a nice product to try if your budget allows.

Luxurious serum that has hydrated my face and brightened my complexion in only a few weeks
I’ve used this serum nightly for right under 4 weeks now and am very impressed with the results I am already seeing. The bottle the serum comes in and the holder are a bit over the top but pretty. The holder can be used as a vase also. The serum is an almost milky texture and very easy to apply. A very small amount is all that’s needed for full face and neck application. I love how lightweight the serum is when on. It does not feel oily at all. I do not notice any scent. After using nightly, I’ve noticed my skin feels and looks much more moisturized and healthy. I’ve received compliments on my face looking brighter. While the price is quite high, my results are noticeable in a short time so I feel the price is a great value.

    Didn’t Really See Any Difference
I will be honest that I find spending $405 for a face serum to be a really big investment. I was excited to give it a try as a Vine Reviewer, and I wanted to give it as much time as possible to give it a thorough trial to share my experience with anyone considering the purchase. As background, I am 68 years old, grew up on the beaches of Southwest Florida when sunscreen was not a thing and in fact Hawaiian Tropic or baby oil was the preferred way to get as tanned as possible. My very fair complexion now has some hyperpigmentation. I have wrinkles as well, but the ones around my mouth that have shown up in the last few years are what I particularly find bothersome. As to the product itself, first of all, I find the glass holder to be pretty but unnecessary. You can purchase the 30ml refill without the holder for $25 less, though, and that’s what I would do personally. As for the serum itself, I applied it both morning and night, after cleansing my face and using a toner. I do not have the full Augustinus Bader skincare line, but I use reputable products. Applying it or any other serum in gentle upward sweeping motions, as the directions instruct, is good practice, and I did that every time I used it. I also didn’t skimp on the amount I used and even being generous with the product it’s lasted a good while. I also didn’t add or subtract anything else from my skincare so I could give it an honest test. The serum feels wonderful going on, absorbs quickly, and I do think maybe shows some softening of wrinkles right after you apply it, but it doesn’t seem to last in my case. I have not noticed any improvement in my hyperpigmentation, though. It’s difficult to tell how much more product is in the tube, but I would anticipate it will last at least through the month and possibly longer. I will continue to use it, of course, and if I do notice any changes for the better in my skin I’ll update the review.I personally just cannot justify this much of an expense for something that doesn’t seem to address the issues I’m seeking to fix. I didn’t expect a miracle, but I did hope to see some softening of the wrinkles or lightening of the pigmentation issues. So in my case, It makes more sense for me to save up the cost of a product like this for a three or four months and go see a professional for treatment of my wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. Now, I will say if you are younger or have less damage to your skin, this product may well be VERY good for you to keep your skin in good condition as you age, however. I do feel it’s very good quality ingredients, but in my case it’s just not made a difference to justify the expense. I do appreciate the opportunity to try it, though!
