Description
Exam Ref AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
In-Depth Review
As a guy in my mid-30s who works in IT, I felt it was time to dive deeper into cloud computing and specifically, Microsoft Azure. I figured this certification could give me a solid foundation to work from, particularly since many companies are moving their operations to the cloud. After hearing mixed reviews about different prep materials, I stumbled across the “Exam Ref AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals” book and decided to give it a shot.
Right off the bat, the book’s layout caught my eye. It’s straightforward, and the chapters are organized in a way that makes sense. You get a solid introduction to Azure and then insight into various aspects like security, compliance, and pricing. It really didn’t take long before I was turning pages, eager to learn more about the platform and what it can offer.
The first major thing that stood out to me was the author’s writing style. It felt conversational yet informative. It’s not bogged down by overly technical jargon, which I appreciated. For someone like me who’s familiar with basic concepts but not yet an Azure guru, the language was just right. I felt like I was engaged rather than just reading a dry textbook.
When it came to the build quality of the book, it’s clear that some thought went into it. The binding feels sturdy, and the pages are thick enough that I didn’t worry about them tearing as I flipped through. I also liked the visual aids throughout—diagrams and questions at the end of each section really helped crystallize what I was learning.
In terms of performance in a daily learning routine, I made it a habit to read a chapter or two a day. There’s a decent amount of practical exercises that allowed me to apply what I learned, which is essential considering how hands-on cloud computing is. I didn’t just read; I actively engaged with the material. With this method, I found myself progressing pretty quickly.
Now, who would this book be best for? Honestly, I’d say it’s perfect for anyone new to cloud computing or those looking to solidify foundational knowledge. Maybe you’re trying to get your foot in the door in tech, or perhaps you’re a seasoned IT pro needing to brush up on Azure. The book feels accessible yet dives deep enough in certain areas that it won’t lose you if you’ve got some experience.
While I have a lot of good things to say, it’s crucial to mention a couple of drawbacks. For one, it’s not as exhaustive as some might hope. If you’re looking for an all-encompassing guide that covers every little detail about Azure, you may find it falls short. Additionally, some sections could benefit from more examples, especially practical case studies. However, it still lays a solid groundwork, which I think is the main goal right now.
In conclusion, the “Exam Ref AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals” is a well-rounded book for anyone interested in entering the Azure ecosystem. It’s not perfect, but it serves its purpose admirably. I appreciated the engaging writing style and practical exercises, which helped reinforce my learning. If you’re looking for a good starting point for Azure or need a refresher, I’d recommend giving this book a shot. It certainly helped me feel more prepared for the exam, and more importantly, it equipped me with knowledge that I’ll carry into my career.

Good content if you can read it.
Good book but you need a magnifying glass to read it.

A great supplement to Microsoft Learn and the official AZ-900 course on LinkedIn Learning.
I appreciated this book as someone with prior Azure knowledge, but is 4x AWS certified. If you need to beef up on Azure, don’t skip the fundamentals!

A lot of pages are pictures
Not a bad book, but just a heads up if you’re more of a reading person(I like to start reading and watch a video after as it helps my attention span) almost 50 pages are pictures. I would have been better off watching a video course only.

print quality is very bad, but i have no choice as i want to read it to pass exam. i prefer printed books rather than e material, so i have to live with it.

Just started this, and it reads super easy and verry structured
Leonardo de Deus –
The book has good contents and is comprehensive. The printing quality though, is a bit disappointing, similar to what I could have printed at home myself. Not sure it’s worth the price.

Das Buch deckt nicht das gesamte Thema ab.

I initially struggled to finish this book as every single line had useful information. But when I finished book twice it started to make more sense and I found this book targeted to prepare for AZ-900 exam. If you read this book, finish MS Learn and do some practice tests you don’t need anything extra to pass test (I did mine today with 873)
