Microsoft Surface Laptop (2024), Windows 11 Copilot+ PC, 15″ Touchscreen Display, Snapdragon X Elite (12 core), 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD Storage, Black
In-Depth Review
As someone who relies heavily on my laptop for both work and leisure, I decided to invest in the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2024. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I’m ready to share my thoughts.
My first impression was how sleek this laptop looks. It’s light, thin, and the black finish gives it a professional vibe. I often bring it along to meetings, and I’ve received plenty of compliments on its aesthetics. The 15″ touchscreen display is vivid and responsive, making navigation a breeze. Everything from video calls to browsing feels smooth.
Regarding build quality, Microsoft has nailed the premium feel here. The keyboard is well-spaced and provides good feedback, which is a must for long typing sessions. It doesn’t feel flimsy; it’s solid yet lightweight – perfect for someone like me who may use it while lounging on the couch or working from coffee shops.
In terms of performance, I can confidently say this device handles everything I’ve thrown at it. With the Snapdragon X Elite processor and 32GB RAM, multitasking feels seamless. I often have several browser tabs open alongside Office applications, and I’ve yet to face any lag. The 1TB SSD is a game changer for me – ample space for files without worrying about cleaning things up constantly.
I think this laptop is best for students, professionals, or anyone who values a portable yet powerful device. If you’re in the market for a sleek laptop that performs well and looks great, this might be the one for you.
Now, let’s be real. Like anything, there are a few drawbacks. The price might be a tough sell for some; it’s not the cheapest laptop out there. Additionally, while the battery life is decent, I wish it lasted a bit longer, especially during those long days when I’m out and about. I’ve also noticed that the speakers could use some improvement; they’re adequate but lack the depth that I’d like when watching movies or listening to music.
All and all, if you’re willing to invest in a high-quality laptop and you want a seamless and stylish experience, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2024 is worth considering. It checks all the boxes that matter to me and provides an enjoyable daily use experience.

Surface Pro – Excellent Laptop
This PC is excellent—I really like the 15-inch screen. I’ve owned numerous Surface Pro computers over the years, and they’re all still in use. However, storage space eventually became the limiting factor for me, which is why I needed to buy a new PC.One big plus is that I didn’t have to buy any new power cords or docking stations, since this PC uses the same accessories I already had. That made the transition very easy. What I appreciate most is the true laptop feel. I really missed that. While the Surface Pro works well, it’s still a tablet at heart and can be awkward to use as a laptop at times. This device feels solid and natural on your lap, which makes a big difference for everyday work.Yes, it’s not a tablet and you can’t use a pen on the touchscreen—but that doesn’t matter to me since I already have tablets for that purpose. For a dedicated laptop experience with a great screen and seamless compatibility with existing accessories, this PC has been a great choice. The price is a good value too.

Amazing at everything!!! …Except Gaming
Best laptop for office work and software tasks I’ve ever owned. However. If you’re thinking of buying this for gaming… don’t. As impressive as this laptop is, it is NOT gaming compatible. (Totally not saying this because I tried it out 👀)

Elegant Computing Defined
This incredible, beautiful, elegant and productive laptop showcases what Microsoft is truly capable of, and I’m a Linux guy. I bought the big one – 15″ screen, 32 gig RAM, elite CPU. It is a powerhouse of a laptop. Now – there is one con, but as time progresses the problem becomes less and less of a problem and that is the ARM architecture vs standard Intel x86/64. Basically, this laptop uses a newer, different CPU architecture, which means that many applications don’t work yet (YET!!). Almost everything I threw at this laptop worked out of the box and worked beautifully. There were some older applications that didn’t work (SimCity Deluxe for example). But and this is a huge BUT – as time passes more applications are supported (or emulated effectively) and it becomes less and less an issue. With the 1 CON out of the way, let’s talk about how amazing this laptop is:Premium feel (shell and keyboard). As good as or even better than a MacBook. Yes, for real.Speakers sound delightful. The 15″-inch sounds like a big laptop but fits perfectly in my backpack and it is still light and small. I mean, unless you are a 5’2″ petite tiny person I don’t see how this 15″ laptop is too big for someone. It is plenty fast for doing all sorts of productivity like writing papers, excel spreadsheeting, music, internet, YouTube etc. Understand this isn’t a fancy Chromebook. Operating System / Applications are exceptionally fast. This laptop WILL make you more productive just by opening it. It makes you want to work it’s so nice.Battery life is OUTSTANDING. If you aren’t glued to this laptop for hours at a time the battery will last DAYS. Literally days.Touchpad is also legit. No problems with cursor moving around (palm detection) and typing. Just legit good.Even when watching movies it doesn’t get hot. Temperature is steady and cool. I love ARM.In closing, get this laptop. It’s nice. Really nice. Like honestly, the nicest laptop I’ve ever owned (I’ve had the ASUS ROG 2024, two Dell XPS 15’s, Razer Blades, etc.,)For my fellow nerds in the crowd:VMWare & Vbox do NOT work. Remember that ARM is a RISC architecture and neither products support ARM (yet). Docker Desktop for Windows DOES work on ARM. Also, WSL 2.0 also works just fine. Also, with the advent of cloud, lightweight servers (I run a small cloud on my home network) we don’t need powerhouse laptops anymore if you have supporting infra. When I’m on travel I just VPN into my home network and I have all the resources I need. So keep something light and portable to work from 🙂

Will NOT run Photoshop Elements. “Snapdragon” problem according to Photoshop
Super fast, however, it will not run Photoshop Elements 2024, Probably not 2025 either. Check first. It will not allow my Epson ET-3760 scan and will not download the printers original drivers, so the paper choices are generic. These are my problems do far. I bought it for Photoshop. The “Snapdragon” is the problem according to Photoshop. Photoshop is trying, but said it would be months. Their fix, download something they offer lik Canva for $10 a month. That is not what I need, nor why I bought this laptop

The Best MacBook-Like Windows Laptop Yet
An amazing laptop overall, and IMO the closest you’ll get to a MacBook-like experience on Windows. My favorite things are: the great built quality, haptic touchpad, and long battery life. However, I’ve experienced some issues, mainly with Windows software glitches. First, the brightness fails to change from time to time, forcing me to restart to fix it. Second, while Windows Hello is based on IR technology, it doesn’t seem to fully work in the dark. And finally, the Surface Connect charging cable is very delicate, so I wish they included a Velcro strap to help coil it in a non-damaging way.One last minor thing I would’ve liked to see is perhaps a USB-C to HDMI dongle in the box since HDMI is pretty widespread, and this laptop lacks the port.

Great product and this one is very well designed and made, very happy with my purchase.
Sometimes Microsoft actually makes a good product and this one is very well designed and made, very happy with my purchase. Great performance and productivity and the screen quality is just the best, love this unit.

Great laptop at reasonable price
Purchased this to replace a 2014 Surface Pro. I’ve only used it for a week, but love it! Instant on, super fast processing, sleek design. My co-workers mistook the design for a MacBook- they couldn’t believe it was a Windows PC. I will say that the touch screen has caused me to unintendedly close my browser; I grabbed the top right corner to close the laptop and the browser closed because my thumb touched that corner. The screensize is good for work and watching videos and the colors are vivid. Other reviews mentioned not liking the magnetic power connection but this doesn’t bother me since I am already accustomed to that Surface feature. Overall I feel it is a good value.

I was a little hesitant to move to an ARM based processor. After doing some research, watching reviews and looking at the applications I needed, I felt confident in purchasing. Everything has worked really well. I also purchased a 1TB micro SSD to put movies on as I plan to travel a lot. Battery lasts a long time without sacrificing performance.

I received the laptop approximately one hour ago, and I am extremely disappointed with its condition. The device is defective—it does not start properly and continuously displays a message saying “attempting repairs,” but never actually initiates.Additionally, I noticed that one of the rubber feet is missing, the box arrived scratched and damaged, and the seal was already broken. These signs strongly suggest that the laptop may have been used or returned previously. This is unacceptable, especially for what should have been a new product.
