Office 365 All-in-One for Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech))
In-Depth Review
As a guy in my mid-30s who spends a fair amount of time at the computer, I knew I needed some help navigating Microsoft Office. I picked up “Office 365 All-in-One for Dummies,” hoping it’d be straightforward and practical. Spoiler alert: it’s been a pretty solid investment!
Right off the bat, my first impression was that this book covers a lot of ground. I saw that it had a comprehensive table of contents, and I felt some relief knowing I wouldn’t have to sift through pages upon pages of fluff. The layout is clean and well-organized, and that’s a big plus for someone like me who appreciates simplicity over complexity.
When I finally dug into the content, I noticed that the book’s design is very user-friendly. The chapters are logically segmented, which makes it easy to bounce around and find the specific info I needed. Plus, there are helpful diagrams sprinkled throughout, breaking down complex tasks into easy-to-follow steps. It’s got that traditional ‘For Dummies’ charm that keeps the learning light but informative, just how I like it.
In terms of performance and daily use, I’ve found the book to be incredibly helpful. Whether I’m trying to perfect a PowerPoint presentation or managing my emails in Outlook, the practical examples and tips help me get the job done faster and with more confidence. I didn’t realize how much I could optimize my use of Excel or Word until I followed the tips from this book. It almost feels like I have a personal assistant guiding me through some of the more challenging aspects of Office 365.
Now, who would benefit the most from this book? Honestly, I’d say it’s perfect for anyone new to Office 365 or even those looking to brush up on their skills. If you’re a student, a professional, or even a retiree trying to stay updated with technology, this book is a great resource. It strikes a balance between being straightforward and comprehensive, which makes it appealing to people with varying skill levels.
Of course, it’s not all perfect. One downside I experienced was that some sections felt a bit basic. If you’re already quite familiar with the software, certain chapters might feel like a bit of a revisit to the fundamentals. However, I think it’s important to recognize that aiming for a broad audience might mean that not every chapter will feel tailored to your specific needs. While that can be a downside, if you’re just looking for a refresher, it might be just what you need.
Another thing I noticed is that the pacing can be a bit uneven. Some chapters zip by while others linger a little too much on certain aspects. But if you approach it with the mindset of picking up what you need, it doesn’t take away from the overall value of the book.
Overall, “Office 365 All-in-One for Dummies” has genuinely enhanced my understanding and use of Microsoft Office applications. There’s practical advice at every turn, and I feel like I’ve learned skills that will serve me well in both my personal and professional life. It’s a worthy pickup for anyone looking to improve their Office game, and I’d recommend it without hesitation.
So, if you’re venturing into using Microsoft Office or just want to sharpen your skills, consider grabbing this book. Sure, it has its quirks, but it genuinely delivers on its promise to make learning Office 365 accessible and even enjoyable.

A useful resource
This book is extremely easy to read, and is actually great VFM, as it’s 10 books on one!Aside from two small tears on the front cover, this book arrived in excellent condition, and has already proven extremely valuable in my classes on Microsoft Office, that I am presently taking at my local Community College. As with all books in the “Dummies” series, you can’t go wrong if you want a resource that is easy to read and is not filled with technical jargon!

Extremely Happy Customer!
I went back to school and this is my sophomore year. I’m 48 and have never used Excel, PowerPoint, only Word and I only know the basics in word. So this has been my best buy in a long time. I’ve never bought used anything on Amazon before but the book came in perfect condition! It’s like brand new! One very happy customer! Oh and the price was unbelievable! Compared to new I got this for a steal!

comprehensive yet affordable
Foremost, I was attracted by the price – 10 independent instructional books in one. This book is in plain thin paper and in black and white only, not as in other fancifully colored instruction manuals. It contains, however, most of the functions, formulas or features I can learn and apply – I am a typical average user who does not use every trick or command each program or application offers. Mastering this enormously complex programs would require lifetime learning and practice, which is to me unnecessary and waste of time.I highly recommend that this book be a reference for the daily user of Office 365, who cannot afford to buy all 10 instruction books.

MS Access abreviated
The problem I have with this book, is it is too simplistic for me. I bought it to learn about MS Access so that I can create a database for my books. My problem is that I know too much about other DBMS as I worked with and programmed several over my 45 years in IT. This book for Dummy’s assumes that you want to make a very simple relational database. I need to be able to make more complicated relationships. As a result, I ordered the MS Access 2019 Bible which is much more comprehensive. This book is great for learning the basics about all the MS Office 365 products. It may be helpful to me in some of the products, but MS Access isn’t one of them. I could have used the book when I did a Power Point presentation a while back.

A great reference book
If you’re looking to learn about Office 365, then this is the book to own. It covers all the applications found in the Office 365 suite and done very well (no surprise with that – all Dummies books do just that). The three main applications this book concentrates on are Word, Excel and PowerPoint (yes, PowerPoint). This book goes into just enough detail with all chapters to get your feet wet with that particular application. Then, if one wants to get into the higher end of the application – another book (advanced) can be obtained. I recommend it for anyone using Office 365.

Great for beginners
Using the book in a course that I’m teaching on digital Ministry one. The book is easy to follow by my older students that really don’t know a lot about the computer.

This is an excellent book on office 365. Very well written. The author is a natural teacher. He knows how to teach. He is able to put himself in the shoes of the learner and is thrrefore able to teach. Office 365 which can be daunting for some but this books explains it so well. The author does not take for granted any prior knwledge and quite happily repeats the lesson or a point when it occurs in a different context.
