Description
Salesforce for Beginners: A step-by-step guide to creating, managing, and automating sales and marketing processes
In-Depth Review
As someone who’s been in sales for over a decade, I often felt lost when it came to using powerful CRM tools like Salesforce. That’s why I decided to pick up *Salesforce for Beginners*. Initially, I thought it would just be a basic overview, but I was pleasantly surprised by how in-depth and practical it was for an average user like me.
**First Impressions**
Right off the bat, *Salesforce for Beginners* appeared well-organized. The layout is user-friendly, starting from foundational concepts to more advanced strategies. The colors are easy on the eyes, and there are enough diagrams and examples that make the information digestible. As I flipped through the first few chapters, I found myself genuinely excited about the possibilities Salesforce offered.
**Build Quality & Design**
While the focus is definitely on the content, I can’t ignore the book’s physical quality. The pages are thick and glossy, with clear headings and subheadings. It’s sturdy enough to not feel fragile when flipping through, and the typography is clean—a big plus for readability. I’ve seen guides that either bombard you with text or under-explain; this book strikes a good balance.
**Performance & Daily Use**
When I finally delved into the core content, I was pleased to discover that the writing is accessible without being overly simplistic. Each chapter builds upon the last, which is great for someone who, like me, didn’t have a background in tech or programming. I’ve been using the insights from the book to streamline my sales processes, and to put it bluntly—it works. The step-by-step instructions helped me set up my own Salesforce dashboard in under an hour, and I’ve been able to automate several tasks that used to take up a lot of my time.
**Who This Is Best For**
I’d say this book is perfect for absolute beginners, small business owners, or anyone who feels overwhelmed by Salesforce’s vast functionalities. If you’re like me and find yourself wading through tutorials online, this guide provides a streamlined and cohesive way to learn. Even individuals preparing for a career change into sales could benefit from its insights.
**Pros and Cons**
The Pros are evident: *Salesforce for Beginners* is well-structured, visually appealing, and easy to understand. It walks you through real applications rather than just theory. The cons, however, come into play for those looking for advanced usage or specifics on custom coding—it’s not that kind of book. While you can certainly grasp the pro-user concepts, anyone looking for intense depth might have to seek additional resources. Additionally, I did wish for more case studies to illustrate the concepts in real-life scenarios.
**Final Verdict**
Overall, *Salesforce for Beginners* is a comprehensive yet approachable guide that I would recommend to anyone feeling lost in the world of CRM. For those just starting their journey in sales and marketing, this book could genuinely set you on the right path. It’s given me practical tools I can apply immediately, and for that, I’m very grateful.

Exactly what I needed
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book when I purchased it. I have been trying to learn Salesforce for a few months using Trailhead, Udemy, and other platforms which are all great, but had me jumping from one thing to the other. This book was the glue that brought it all together for me and helped me focus on the foundation. You won’t learn everything there is to know about Salesforce in this book, but you will get a great foundation to start on.

Great Beginner SupplementL Resource
We use this book to train new admins in our Salesforce administrator course for PepUp Tech. This book is valuable because of the straightforward writing and examples given. Our admins give high ratings and we continue to assign this as required reading in our classes.

Glosses over details
I was hoping to get more detail about a few specific issues such as connecting to Outlook. Unfortunately, all it provided on the topic was ‘Salesforce can be configured to connect to Outlook”…..That said, there is some very useful information.

Not for Admin
I still don’t understand what the high rating was for. This is not a book for admins at all – this is a book for those actually using salesforce and want to learn how to navigate the platform. The book is a 2 part (or wanted to be) – the first half is about the user facing a manual of how to use SF which could be given a B ratingIt is in the second part that the book falls apart. This is where the author claims to cover Admin related learning outcomes – The so called business cases: Do not fool yourself into thinking this is SF Traiblerzer category… oh no – this is one sentence explaining the next window – In addition to not even aligning what the author is doing with what you will probably have in your Dev Org, the writing also falls apart. The redundancy of “as you saw in the preceding screenshot” – in the following screenshot – not only these two don’t even align with what you are reading on Kindle – it becomes so annoying by the n’th time -The telling for me was the chapter on security which I really was expecting to be a serious part of the bookThere is NOTHING on security except very basic (very basic) tabs from the set up menu. In addition the author spent an entire chapter listing ALL the definitions you get from SF – literally word per word. I don’t understand how this is not plagiarismThen you have an entire chapter on sandbox – if you are an admin or training to become one you should figure this one on your own ….Oh no, save your money you are much much much better off just getting free stuff on SF – this book gets 2 starts for the user training part and that is very generous.

When try to download this book , takes forever. Called Amazon Kindle support and she said this book may take longer time . Out of 3400 pages or location downloaded 785 and took almost an hour. My ISP speed is great. If takes this long when I will read it ? May be next day, I suppose. This really need to be improve .
