Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipstick 44 Nude Lavalliere
In-Depth Review
As a guy who probably wouldn’t usually write a review about lipstick, let me start by saying that I bought the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipstick in shade 44, Nude Lavalliere, for my wife. In recent months, I’ve been paying more attention to her preferences and have dabbled in the world of cosmetics, not just to understand what she loves but to surprise her with something special.
First impressions were surprisingly good. The packaging is sleek and elegant—it feels luxurious just holding it. You can tell this is a high-end product. The gold casing gives off a very classy vibe and looks beautiful on a vanity. My wife immediately loved the look of it, and I could tell she appreciated the thoughtful gift.
When it came to the build quality and design, I’d give it high marks. The lipstick has a satisfying weight to it and the bullet itself has a unique design. It’s a twist-up mechanism, which makes application easy and ensures you won’t accidentally break the product. In my limited experience with cosmetics, I found it intuitive, but I imagine it would suit anyone, whether a novice or a makeup enthusiast.
Now, let’s talk performance. My wife has used it daily for a few weeks now, and she’s thrilled. The texture is creamy and moisturizing. She describes it as feeling lightweight on her lips, which is important for her since she prefers products that don’t feel heavy or sticky. The sheer coverage is lovely—it adds a nice hint of color without being overpowering. She appreciates that it’s versatile; she can wear it for a casual day out or layer it for a more vibrant evening look.
There’s a subtle shine that makes her lips look healthy and plump without crossing into the territory of over-glossiness. The longevity is decent, too; she doesn’t have to worry about constant reapplication throughout the day, especially if she’s mindful during meals.
So, who is this product best for? From my perspective, it’s perfect for anyone looking to add a high-quality lipstick to their makeup bag. It’s ideal for women who prefer a natural look but also want the flexibility to amp things up a bit for special occasions. Also, for those who enjoy a bit of luxury in their daily routine, I think this lipstick is right on the mark.
However, I should mention a couple of downsides. First, the price. This isn’t your drugstore lipstick. It’s an investment, and while it’s fantastic, it’s more than what the average person might want to spend on a single lipstick. Secondly, the color range might not be for everyone. While the Nude Lavalliere is a beautiful shade, there are fewer bold options compared to other brands that specialize in striking color palettes.
In conclusion, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipstick 44 Nude Lavalliere has her very happy. It’s been a joy to see her enjoy this little luxury, and I’d definitely consider purchasing more shades in the future. If you’re looking to split the difference between quality and usability, this lipstick manages to do just that with a touch of elegance.

Light and luxurious pink
Expensive but just what I wanted. Spent a lot more money on inexpensive lipstick than just wasn’t right. Recommend.

Love this lipstick!
Absolutely love the color! So smooth, sheer, and glossy. Doesn’t last too long, so you will need to reapply frequently. However, it’s well worth it and feels like velvet on your lips. I always get so many compliments when I wear it. Love this lipstick and it’s my favorite of all tried over the past few years.

Palest Pink
I only use YSL Oil-in-Stick products for my lips and try a different shade each time. The color “Nude Lavalliere” is so light that it barely shows. If you are looking for minimal coverage, this would work. I usually wear vibrant colors but wanted to try a “nude lip” look. This shade is a chalky mauve pink that is faint. I cannot wear it alone, so I will use it over a darker lipstick as a layering effect. As usual, the oil in stick formula is silky smooth.
